Light along the path, not in your eyes

The difference between useful and obtrusive garden lighting lies in the direction of the light. A spherical lamp shines in your face and leaves the path dark; this bollard light has a layered cylindrical shape that directs the light downward, where you walk. Choose the height that suits your garden path: 30, 60 or 80 cm, with a width of 20 or 23 cm and a base diameter of 16 cm. Each lamp illuminates 3 to 5 m², so space them along the path. The housing is made of cast aluminum with polycarbonate and has an IP65 protection rating.

Why it works along a garden path

Installing along a path

Allow 3 to 5 m² of illuminated area per lamp: for a ten-meter path, you would typically place three or four, alternating between the left and right sides rather than directly opposite each other. This lets the pools of light overlap, so there are no dark patches between the lamps. For a path, 60 cm is usually the right height, as the light spreads wide enough without the lamp itself standing out; for a driveway or house entrance, 80 cm works better because you need to see where the edge is from farther away. The wired version is surface-mounted on a hard, flat surface, so make sure there is a tile or concrete base at each chosen spot. The wired version operates on 110-240 V and is controlled with a wall switch; a solar-powered version is also available.
