Light on your balcony without a lamp getting in the way

Balconies are narrow, which is where traditional outdoor lighting becomes a problem: a classic outdoor lamp protrudes quite a way from the wall and sits exactly where you need to walk. This linear wall light is a slim bar that sits flush against the wall and casts light down along it. Choosing the right length

First, measure the wall where the light will go. In practice, 20 or 40 cm is usually enough for a balcony: 10 cm provides little more than a marker by the door, while 60 cm is mainly intended for a wider facade or patio wall. Mount the light horizontally at a height of about one and a half meters if you want to illuminate the floor, or vertically next to the balcony door if you want a line of light along the wall. Thanks to its IP65 rating, the light can be mounted in an exposed location, but placing it under the balcony floor above will extend its lifespan. The light is hardwired to the mains at 85 to 265 V, so plan the cable route before drilling.
