Outdoor Garden Faucet Wall-Mounted 304 Stainless Steel Brass Core Valve Cold Water 3/4 and 1/2 Inch Black Brushed Nickel | Sansoti

Replace your garden outdoor tap properly the first time

An outdoor tap that keeps dripping or has a stuck handle is the kind of job you put off until spring - and then you find yourself standing with a watering can beneath a tap that refuses to shut off. This wall-mounted tap has a 304 stainless steel body and a brass core valve, the two components that determine whether an outdoor tap will still work after three winters. It mounts to the wall through one hole and has one handle, available in black or brushed nickel, with either a 3/4" or 1/2" connection.

What matters in an outdoor tap

• 304 stainless steel body: stainless steel quality that will not pit or tarnish outdoors.
• Brass core valve: the internal mechanism that holds the seal - brass keeps turning smoothly instead of seizing up with limescale.
• Two connection sizes: 3/4" and 1/2", with the connection at the top or on the side, so it fits the pipework already in place.
• Single handle, single hole: one hole in the wall, one quarter-turn to open - easy to operate even with gloves or wet hands.
• Zinc alloy handle: solid to the touch, not the thin sheet metal that becomes warped after one season.
• Cold water, CE certified: intended for cold-water connections in the garden, on a balcony, in the kitchen, bathroom or utility room.

Before you start installing

First measure what is in the wall: 3/4" or 1/2", and whether the pipe comes from above or from the side. These are the two choices you make with this tap, and the wrong combination will cost you an extra trip to the hardware store. The tap itself is hand-sized - a single tap on a large wall - so it is barely noticeable after installation; the black finish blends into dark masonry, while brushed nickel stands out. Shut off the water supply before loosening the old tap, and check for leaks around the wall connection after installation.
