A stairwell or mezzanine is the one place in the house where an ordinary ceiling light does nothing: it hangs so high that you can barely see it, and the space below it stays dark. Choose the height before installation

A common mistake with a mezzanine is hanging the light too high, which makes the effect disappear. Measure the distance from your ceiling to the floor of the level below, and make sure the lowest globe ends well above head height where people walk past; the 200 cm cable gives you room to adjust. If you’re hanging the light in an open stairwell, look up from the bottom step before shortening the cable permanently: that’s the angle from which the cascade is most visible. The wedge-shaped ceiling plate requires a secure mounting point, so attach it to a joist or a suitable ceiling structure.
