Driving Reading Glasses Multifocal Photochromic UV Filter +1.0 to +4.0 | Sansoti

Reading glasses that keep working for distance while driving

The drawback of ordinary reading glasses in the car is that the road becomes blurry as soon as you put them on, while the dashboard becomes blurry as soon as you take them off. These glasses feature progressive multifocal lenses: you look into the distance through the upper part, read the display or a map through the lower part, with smooth transitions between them instead of a sharp dividing line. The lenses are also photochromic — they darken in bright sunlight — and have a UV filter. Available in strengths from +1.0 to +4.0.

What you notice on the road

• Sharp at every distance: see the road, mirrors and dashboard clearly without constantly taking off your glasses.
• Photochromic lenses: darken in bright light and clear up in the shade or at a tunnel entrance.
• UV filter: protection against ultraviolet light during prolonged driving in the sun.
• Blue-light filter: also comfortable for illuminated displays and navigation.
• Scratch-resistant, anti-smudge coating: holds up in a jacket pocket or the dashboard compartment.
• Strengths from +1.0 to +4.0: choose in half-diopter increments.

A brief adjustment period, then you won’t think about it again

Progressive lenses generally require 1 to 3 days of adjustment: at first, you notice the transition between the zones, but afterward your eyes automatically find the right height. For the first few days, preferably wear the glasses in calm situations before using them in busy traffic. In addition to driving, they are suitable for reading, screen work and outdoor activities — one pair of glasses instead of keeping reading glasses and sunglasses side by side. Choose the strength you are used to from your current reading glasses.
