The cold seeping in through your window

With single glazing or an old frame, you can feel the difference as soon as you hold your hand near the window: cold air sinks down along the glass and blows right across the room. Install it before the cold really sets in

First, measure the inside of the frame, not the glass, because the film is attached to the frame, not the windowpane. Then clean and degrease the frame, because a self-adhesive strip won’t stick to dust or condensation. Apply the film at room temperature and not to a damp frame; on a cold, wet day, the adhesive won’t bond properly. Install it before it gets really cold outside so you can benefit from it all season. Position the zipper on the side of the window you actually open; for a casement window, place it on the hinge side opposite the handle so the zipper doesn’t get in the way.
