Outdoor Wall Light IP65 with Motion Sensor LED Linear 30 to 200 cm Dimmable Metal Acrylic 110-240V Facade | Sansoti

Outdoor wall light with motion sensor and IP65 protection

An outdoor light that stays on all night uses electricity and loses its signaling value; a light that only switches on when someone walks by does both better. This linear outdoor wall light is available in a version with a motion sensor and a version that stays on continuously, so you can choose what makes sense for each location: a sensor along a driveway or side path, continuous lighting by an entrance. It has an IP65 rating, which means it is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction—not submersible, but able to withstand a Dutch winter. The fixture is 5 cm wide, available in lengths from 30 to 200 cm, and also comes in a dimmable version.

Sensor or continuous lighting: where to use each

A sensor light is ideal where movement is an occasional event: a driveway, a side path to the backyard, a gate, or the route to a shed or bicycle storage. You want the light to switch on when someone arrives and then turn off again. A light that stays on continuously is best for areas you always want illuminated: a façade, a patio when you’re spending the evening outdoors, or a house number. For a long driveway, a combination works best—a continuously lit lamp by the entrance and sensor lights along the path leading to it. When mounting a sensor light, aim for a height of around 180 to 220 cm; any lower and it will react to every cat, any higher and its range will be too great.
